Policies
My practice is limited, thus I may not be able to accept all patients. A decision about whether there will be ongoing treatment can be made at the end of the initial evaluation.
If you are interested, please fill out the contact form and the current fee schedule and practice policies will be sent to you.
If you begin treatment with me, there will be a case management fee, paid monthly. It covers all interactions outside of the appointment time, such as prescription refills, phone calls about side effects or other questions, assistance with referral to psychotherapists or other clinicians as needed, guidance during crises or assistance with hospitalization if feasible. These activities are important and need time and attention, and the case management fee allows me to be available for such attention.
Professional courtesy for medical and mental health professionals and their families can be provided for the initial visit and as possible for other visits.
I understand that my practice will not be workable for many people. If we agree to work together, we can discuss what works for you and for me, and in certain cases, a sliding scale will be applied or certain fees can be waived.
In person and virtual meetings
Virtual or in-person appointments are available. My office is located near Harvard Square in Cambridge MA. I am licensed in Massachusetts, California, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. If you live in any of those states, virtual appointments are possible. In other states, or if you live overseas, virtual conversations on a more general basis can happen, although they would not be reimbursable by insurance and would not represent formal clinical appointments.
Insurance
Insurance is not accepted. Invoices can be provided for out-of-pocket reimbursement if provided by your insurance company.
